Missing People offers a lifeline for the 250,000 people who run away and go missing each year. For those left behind we provide specialised support to ease the heartache and confusion, and help search for their missing loved ones.

Missing People has historically operated from a single central office, but  are now enlisting the help of regional volunteers to co-ordinate the search in the local area; raise awareness of the crisis services available and raise money to fund our vital services. We need to mobilise local communities to join the search and fundraise for some of the most vulnerable people in our society.
This will be a position that is both home based and community based - volunteers will have support from Local Coordinator and other volunteers in their area - attending meetings and local events. This is a flexible opportunity so anytime of the week - although most events will probably arranged on evenings or weekends. Can you bring a book to life - could you make a difference to the lives of physical and learning disabled people?
Meadow bank is a service supporting learning and physical disabled people to have daytime opportunities and lead a fulfilling life.  Some of the people who use this service would really benefit from having an enthusiastic story reader to read stories or poetry to a small group of people.
This would be for a one hour session either once per fortnight or monthly depending on how often you wish to volunteer. This opportunity would be to capture a group of people with your enthusiastic reading skills. People in the group are supported by staff and the role would be solely to read to the group. This would be every other thursday, from 10.30-11.30 at 68A high street, Starbeck.
