The North Yorkshire Children and Young People's Service

The North Yorkshire Children and Young People's Service promotes lifelong learning for all. A wide range of courses are available all across North Yorkshire for children, young people and adult learners. The Adult Learning and Skills Service in North Yorkshire offers a wide range of non-accredited and accredited learning opportunities serving over 9,400 adult learners. North Yorkshire County Councils Workforce Development Unit (WDU)
 

The WDU produce a Training Calendar which features a wide range of free learning and development opportunities for Private, Voluntary and Third Sector Care Providers in North Yorkshire. Henshaws Yorkshire  - Visual Impairment Awareness Training (VIAT)

VIAT training is held monthly at Arts & Crafts Centre, 50 Bond End, Knaresborough. The course covers how the eye works, practical sighted guide skills, handy tips for helping customers and service users and how to make reasonable adjustments in the workplace. The training can be tailored  to meet the needs of your organisation (including 2 hour sighted guide sessions), and help you to meet your responsibilities under the DDA.

Environmental Trainers Network

The ETN training programme is managed by BTCV's Training Programmes Unit on behalf of the Environmental Trainers Network (ETN). The programme has been running since 1994 and is aimed at encouraging contact and networking amongst participants and their organisations as well as providing quality training at reasonable cost to voluntary, public and statutory organisations.

Are you looking to increase children and young people participation in your organisation? Then the Participation Works consortium has a range of training courses and a consultancy package, ranging from introducing a selection of training methods and tools, through to organisational change and strategic planning to support you. 

Courses are designed to meet the needs of a wide range of staff including managers and trustees as well as young people themselves, and will include accredited training. The training programme is being delivered England-wide by a team of Participation Works approved trainers, including young people who are aged 16-19 years.
