Funding Advice services are free and include:
Funding Information service
Harrogate CVS can provide you with information on appropriate funders, open data and other information to help with your funding applications.
The Monthly Funding Bulletin (click on the image below to read the latest issue)
The Funding Bulletin contains new funding opportunities and approaching deadlines.
The Small Grants Special Supplement details local funders and was published in Autumn 2011.
The Community House Information Centre
The Community House Information Centre contains up to date funding directories and guides on everything from running a community event to writing a fundraising strategy. Some books are available to borrow. The libary is open Mon- Fri 9.00-4.30. Click here for more information.
Free Funding Databases
Grantnet
Grantnet is a free version of Grantfinder and can be accessed via the York and North Yorkshire Funding Advice network website. Click on the logo below to visit the website
Funding Central
Funding Central is a free database for the voluntary and community sector. To search or sign up for email alerts visit http://www.fundingcentral.org.uk/
Funding Training
Harrogate CVS hold regular training and funding surgery events to share information about key funders and their criteria, for example the Big Lottery. For up to date information about our training please check the HACVS training page.
Funding Advice
Nina Muir, the CVS funding and development worker, offers 1:1 advice on:
- Planning your project
- Costing your project
- Making funding applications
- Developing a funding strategy.
We also offer a range of advice and support to help you develop your organisation, click here for further details.
What we cannot do
- Harrogate & Area CVS do not provide grants
- We cannot write your funding application for you (although we can offer detailed advice)
- We cannot approach a funder for you
- We cannot recommend your organisation to a funder

When you contact us please provide the following details:
- What you want funding for?
- Do you have a deadline by which you need to raise the money?
- Who you are currently funded by?
- Whether you are currently pursuing any funding applications?
- Whether or not you are a registered charity?
Eligibility
All charities, social enterprises and community groups operating in the Harrogate District are eligible for free help and advice from Harrogate & Area CVS.
Members of Harrogate CVS receive the monthly Funding Bulletin.
You can use the information service as many times as you like. So please get back to us if you have another different enquiry in the future, or would like updated records of funders.

Nina Muir, Harrogate & Area CVS Funding and Development Worker, is part of the Funding Advice Network (FAN).
The Funding Advice Network is made up from Funding Advisers employed by CVS' and staff/representatives from the City of York Council, North Yorkshire County Council and Local Authorites throughout North Yorkshire.
