Representation and Liaison for Voluntary and Community Organisations
Harrogate & Area CVS work to raise awareness in other sectors about the expertise, role and value that the voluntary and community sector can contribute to debate and decision-making on local and regional issues.
Harrogate CVS promote consultation to gain the views of the voluntary and community sector. We sit on various strategic groups in a representation role and aim to feed the views of the sector into the planning of local services.
Harrogate CVS also provides support for other voluntary and community sector representatives who sit on strategic planning groups.
Through our contacts with voluntary groups, statutory authorities and service users Harrogate CVS has an overview of the local community and can help to make things happen.
Forums
The forums are multi-agency partnerships which bring together service-users, carers and representatives of voluntary & community groups, statutory agencies and other external bodies in order to exchange information and ideas to improve local services. All of the Forums cover the Harrogate District.
These are:
Chief Officers and Chairs Group
Children & Young People's Mental Health Group
Volunteer-involving Organisations Network
The Older People’s Reference Group, funded by NHS North Yorkshire & York came to an end in October 2011. From this group a separate opportunity has arisen to develop a Harrogate District Older People’s Forum.
If you would like further information about any of the Forums please contact us.
From 1 October 2011 the Harrogate District Community Safety Partnership Team took over the responsibility for the Domestic Abuse Forum.
